Abstract:

Background: Apart from tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBc) species, there are many other mycobacterial infections due to nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM). These are rarely identified in many low resource settings in Africa because of the lack of accurate identification methods.
